Notes

Mastering Notes
-- Software used - Adobe Audition, Sound Forge, Wavelave, iZotope Ozone and Voxengo r8brain.
-- Downsampled from 24/96 to 16/44.1 using r8brain.
-- Right channel gain reduced by 1-1.5 decibels.
-- A number of small dropouts have been repaired and clicks removed.
-- The tape was paused between several tracks, crossfades have been put in.
-- d2t07 - Tape flip in "Drums" was crossfaded; no patch was used.
-- Seamless change between Discs 2 and 3.
-- d3t05 - No patch was applied for the cut at the end of "Good Lovin'".

Notes
-- d2t02 - At about 5:48 of "China Cat Sunflower" there is a tease of Donovan's "There Is A Mountain".
-- d3t05 - End of "Good Lovin'" is missing starting at 4:35.
-- All of the encore "Don't Ease Me In" is missing.
-- This was the first show the Dead played after John Lennon was murdered four days prior. According to accounts Jerry was in tears during "He's Gone" (d2t05).
-- All equipment used for this recording was on loan from Bob Menke.
-- These masters were in safe keeping with Barry Glassberg.

--- MOTB dedicates this release to the memory of John Lennon for his immeasurable gift to music ---

Subject: LOUD
Only twice in my life have I experienced a volume of music loud enough to hurt my ears. This night was one of them! The Swing Auditorium was an old airplane hangar that rocked and rolled as long and solidly as any place on the planet. Ironically, an airplane crashed into it and all we have now are the memories and tapes. Praise God for the taping community.

Subject: Great Audience Recording
MOTB Strikes Again! Great sound and 3-D stereo.

Subject: Althea
If for no other reason, DL this for the soulful rendition of Althea. It's a highly listenable and crisp if not technically perfect AUD. Points made, I'm outta' here and back to the show.

Subject: Best AUD of the bunch
thanks MOTB!! this set is brighter/louder/better than the other AUD version available
